When HTG Molecular contacted Godat Design, they had invested 15 years in the development of proprietary chemistry, processing hardware, and data delivery. And then, with venture-capital backing, and leveraging multiple collaborations with global pharma, HTG re-launched itself as a publicly traded company after a multi-year makeover that included marketing its technologies in both CDx and MDx marketspaces. HTG engaged Godat Design as a key marketing provider from 2013-2022. But, like many other businesses, COVID proved too disruptive to a company still transforming from an engineering-focused startup into a full-fledged medical diagnostics player. HTG closed its doors in June 2023.

Thanks to Lisa Jensen-Long for recommending us to HTG’s leadership, TJ Johnson and John Lubniewski. Thanks also to HTG’s marketing crew Rachael Chesser, Chris Roberts, Anna Galstyan, Brian McEvilly, Mike Hrubiak, and Byron Lawson. Godat Design project leads were Danny Pagano, Brett Turner, Katherine Monberg, and Richard Whitmer. Photography by Jeff Smith and Jonathan Van Ballenberghe.
